HPAC were engaged to Project Manage the new build construction of the University of Notre Dame Rural & Clinical School facility attached to the Auburn Hospital.  This project involved all facets of construction from demolition and excavation through to medical fitout. Major elements of the building included a lecture theatre, student accommodation, GLA Class rooms, offices and admin areas, simulation room, doctors’ consulting rooms, 2 x PCA laboratories, Bio med laboratories, computer laboratories, executive offices and basement car parking.

Some of the significant challenges presented by the project included working adjacent to an operational hospital, and a high water table that affected the design of the OSD tank. Through concerted design effort we were able to provide an alternate structural design to resolve this issue that resulted in a cost saving to the project.
